Naomi Broady narrowly defeated but Johanna Konta through to Round Two

Sloane Stephens d. Naomi Broady 3-6 6-3 7-6

Naomi Broady who has a wildcard for Wimbledon could be one to watch at SW19 in a weeks time. Naomi played really well in the first set to take the first set off the American however it slipped away from her in the second set and looked like doing the same in the third however from 2-5 down Naomi managed to pull it back to 6-6 but sadly lost the tie-break 7-4 but can be proud of her efforts against a top 30 player.

Johanna Konta d. Zarina Diyas 6-3 6-2

Another Brit with a wildcard for Wimbledon who has been playing well on the grass and on the clay at Roland Garros is Johanna Konta. Johanna comfortably beat Zarina Diyas who is a top 40 player in just under 75 minutes to progress to the next round where she faces another tough test in Ekaterina Makarova.
