Wimbledon 2015 – Jordanne Whiley and Yui Kamiji through to Wheelchair Doubles Final!

Jordanne Whiley and her partner Yui Kamiji got off to a very good start in their doubles match against Louise Hunt and Katharina Kruger. The number one seeds broke serve for a 2-0 lead immediately and a pattern followed as Whiley held for a 3-0 lead with a good ace out wide and another break of serve followed for a 3-0 lead before they took a 4-0 and lead before going on to break serve again to take the first set 6-0 and looked in control of the match.

However the number one pair were surprisingly broken at the start of the set but broke back immediately to level up at 10- before going 0-40 down on serve and Kamiji facing break points on her serve. One of which was saved with a smash at the net from Whiley however an error from Kamiji with the ball hitting the net gave Hunt and Kruger and 2-1 lead with the third break of serve in a row. This time Hunt and Kruger held serve and took a 3-1 lead in the second set. 3-1 became 3-2 as Whiley held serve well to keep the set at one break of serve. Whiley and Kamiji managed to break back for 3-3 before taking a 4-3 lead and another break of serve quickly followed with the number one seeds 5-3 and serving for a place in the final on Sunday. A second serve out wide sealed the win for Kamiji and Whiley who go into Sunday’s final after a 6-0 6-3 win.
