Kvitova, Zverev, RBA wins again & Frances Tiafoe!

Kvitova yet to find top gear!

The Czech Republic are through to the semi-finals of the Fed Cup by the skin of their teeth however one player in the squad hasn’t really got going yet this season and that is Petra Kvitova. The two time Wimbledon champion announced she split from her long term coach David Kotyza not long ago and her win/loss for the year sits at 1-4 and since winning New Haven last year has only won 9 of her last 20 matches on the tour and is in danger of falling outside the top 10 in the world!

Alexander Zverev probably had the best week of his career in Montpellier but sadly for him the tournament will be remembered for his unacceptable choice of language towards the umpire on a call he was unhappy about.

I don’t think I have ever seen a player react like that at all. He’s a talented player and one for the future but he hasn’t done himself any favours using language like that is wrong.

I won’t fully write what he said but it went like this – “you ******* moron”

It’s a shame as I think he is the most talented out of the top youngsters on the tour but to behave like that is not right especially in a sport when you are in the public eye week in week out.

Agut in form!

Roberto Bautista Agut is a player who is on form this season. The Spaniard has just claimed his second title of 2016 after a run to the fourth round in Australia not long ago.

Roberto did get a bit of luck with a BYE and then a walkover and only needed three wins to claim his second piece of silverware this year, could he be one to watch this season?

Frances Tiafoe is regarded as a future star on the tour and at a challenger event in Dallas he came up with a cheeky winner against Sam Groth to take the first set…
