Rafael Nadal was the high profile name in action this weekend in Valencia and the Spaniard on and off the court went through the emotions, this is what Davis Cup is about! Don’t kill it!
French number one Lucas Pouille said he wouldn’t represent France in an exhibition when asked about the potential changes hinting a boycott would happen.
Australian Davis Cup captain Lleyton Hewitt who bleeds passion took to Twitter to send a strong tweet towards the ITF before the weekend’s action;
Many share his views including youngster Alex De Minaur (retweeted Lleyton’s tweet) who made his Davis Cup debut in a stunning five set win at the beginning of the year.
What a weekend of tennis it was with Croatia, USA, France and Spain winning and through to the semi-finals.
The highlight of the weekend was of course 36 year old David Ferrer’s 5 set 4 hour 51 minute win against Kohlschreiber in the 5th rubber to send Spain to the semi-finals.
