Serena Williams made her Grand Slam return at Roland Garros unfortunately it did end in injury so what next for the 23 time Grand Slam champion?
Muscular tear = rest!
Serena had to withdraw from her match against Sharapova due to a peck injury. This peck injury began against Georges when the former world number one felt a twinge and in her doubles match the next day couldn’t find her serve and couldn’t carry her bags off. There were rumours that her team wanted to her too call off the double after the win against Georges as it meant she’d be playing every day in her first major back. The plan was after withdrawing to rest for 15 days with no practice.
Doubles at Wimbledon?
Her coach Patrick Mouratoglou has said the discussion they had after Roland Garros it would be a no but Serena is unpredictable.
We want to see Serena play as much as possible but it needs to be the correct decision.
Disney Paris > Home
Following her withdrawal from Roland Garros she posted on social media that she went to Disney with her family but it was confirmed that they would also be heading home to Florida.
France > SW19
We don’t know when but the plan is for Serena to had to Patrick’s academy in Nice for some training soon once the injury is ok and following that she will then head up to Wimbledon a week before it starts on the 2nd of July.
