The rumours did begin to circulate around March time at Indian Wells and Miami that Roger Federer’s career long partnership with Nike could be coming to an end.
The contract did run out in March but negotiations were under way to renew this but rumours surfaced about a switch to Uniqlo which already has Novak Djokovic and Kei Nishikori on their books an idea which looked impossible but on Monday the world got a big shock!
Roger walked onto centre court at Wimbledon wearing a full Uniqlo kit (well almost). A deal for shoes still awaits so for now he has Nike shoes on.
The big question on everyone’s lips is what about the RF logo.
The RF logo is owned by Nike.
Federer in his post match press conference did say that he hopes sooner rather than later this will all be sorted out and the logo will move from Nike to Uniqlo.
Without Federer with Nike the logo does nothing as it is essentially his logo.
Rumour has it that the deal Federer has signed with Uniqlo is worth almost $300million over 10 years!
