Andy Murray was spotted on social media the other day as he arrived in China with his participation in Shenzhen this week being confirmed but via Facebook yesterday the former world number one has announced that Shenzhen and Beijing will be his final tournaments of the year.
This does mean that he will miss the final Masters 1000 events in Shanghai and Paris.
In the video on Facebook which he posted he said this had been a tough decision and something which has been a long discussion with his team but the plan going forward is to get straight back into an intense training block.
Andy Murray is always known for doing his pre-season training at Crandon Park in Miami where until now the Miami Open was hosted but next year has a new home.
With the target being to be fitter and stronger going into Australia finding somewhere to train where there is heat like Miami would make sense.
