My first day at the Open was Friday! I made my way into Melbourne on the train and as I was queuing to get in the heavens opened…
After a bit of wondering around and realising the rain wasn’t going away I made my way into Rod Laver Arena and saw the last couple of minutes of practice by a certain Roger…
I decided to stay in as it was still raining and saw a great battle between Barty and Sakarri, the home crowd really went for it!
Following that match next up was Federer v Fritz and the performance from Roger to witness live was breathtaking!
Following this one was a very good battle between Wozniacki and Sharapova and the latter played a superb match to defeat the defending champion who at times was passive.
after this one there was a break before the night session so I wandered around to see some practices!
Bruno and Jamie we’re practicing and I saw Karen Khachanov as well!
Next up for me and it proved to be my final one due to jet lag was Nadal v De Minaur.
The atmosphere was incredible as was the performance of both players early on but one Nadal got into it he was unstoppable despite the heroic defensive attributes of the Australian!
next up for me?
Wednesday – quarter finals and Thursday – ladies semi-finals before I head back home!
