4 matches, 14 hours! Time take its toll on Kei once again!

Kei Nishikori is one talented player but his body cannot take the physicality of a major.

Injuries have been a big factor in his career and once again we saw this tonight.

Novak Djokovic was feeling it from the off but you the immediate looked like setting the tone anyway and as it kept going you could see something was up with Kei.

He did call the trainer on and had his quad wrapped very tightly and he did decide to keep going but was not being competitive at all and at this stage of a major the last thing you want to do is to call it a day but sadly for Kei there was no other option and down 1-6 1-4 the day was called.

It is another big worry. It’s one of those that goes down as a good tournament for Kei when we talk about him playing to a level but to get to that winning of a major level we are far away!

What next?

Same story, time to get fit and see what happens.

Even with a day on and day off as you do at a major it is a struggle for Kei to stay fit and I don’t sadly see a way of it improving.
