Australian Open Day 11 – Wednesday 23rd

Could it have been hotter? Yes! And it will tomorrow.

Sat in the heat on RLA and before I made my way to the arena stopped by for some water and saw a crowd…

Serena was practicing ahead of her match with Pliskova who was on the next court…

Then it was time to head to RLA for Svitolina v Osaka.

A very good match, close to begin with before the Japanese star began to edge ahead and took more risks on route to her win with some concerns for Svitolina having to call on the trainer.

Naomi as ever was just so humble and said to the interviewer

I just want to go inside, it’s a little warm out here

Following the match I stretched my legs and left the court for 5 mins due to the heat being constant where I was sat and then it was time for Serena v Pliskova

These two put on a show and a half! Pliskova broke first and it was decisive for the set but Serena improved her game to take the second and in the third began to steamroll before a foot fault and an ankle roll set her off the pace and Pliskova who I will add move superbly well and played some stunning ground strokes advanced to her first Melbourne semifinal.

Now, I needed food and had a wonder!

Saw a bit of Clijsters and Li Na

Once I moved on I saw a crowd again… this time it was Venus!

I watched Venus practice whilst I waited for Nishikori and Tsitsipas to make their way to the practice courts respectively.
