I think it is fair to say Simona Halep has had a busy week of tennis.
7 days ago she was in the Czech Republic and was a key part of her teams success against one of the most difficult sides in the competition.
Following her heroics in Fed Cup she made her way to Qatar for her first tournament since her defeat to Serena in Melbourne.
On reflection and taking into consideration what she did in Fed Cup it has been a very good for the former world number one who is now back at number two in the world but it does have a feeling of what could have been for the former number one.
Watching Halep in the final her game just lacked that killer instinct which I think is fair to say we haven’t seen in some time after poor form following her Roland Garros win and her season ending early with injury.
Next up for Simona is a trip to Dubai where if anything there will be more pressure on her to now perform and step up to that next level which like I said we haven’t seen in some time!
