It’s a cruel sport

I don’t think you will find anyone who doesn’t have pure admiration for Juan Martin Del Potro.

The Argentine who has had more than his share of injuries, surgeries and set backs on the tour looks set for another spell on the sidelines.

Del Potro has been suffering with a knee problem since New York and missed London, Melbourne and Indian Wells due to it with his only appearance at Delray Beach.

It is now expected for Del Potro to withdraw from Miami, have surgery which see him out for 4-6 months which is the noise coming out of Argentina and I can confirm he is not on site at Miami.

I’m not being biased but I’m being honest in saying outside of Rafa and Novak’s achievements last year no one played better tennis than Del Potro.

His win at Indian Wells and heroics at Roland Garros and Wimbledon were super and the way he interacts with the crowd makes him so popular.

Del Potro pulls a crowd, people would turn up to him opening an envelope. That is how loved he his!

All of his comebacks have been nothing short of inspirational and I hope that if surgery on the knee is the next chapter for the gentle giant that we see him back competing on a tennis court.
