32 tournaments, 32 different winners; 2019 is proving to be unpredictable!

Miami is about to begin in a new home of the Hard Rock Stadium after many years at Crandon Park.

Prior to now 32 tournaments have been played on the WTA and ATP tours with 32 different winners which is some record.

Usual suspects of Djokovic, Federer and Nishikori have been amongst the winners so have upcoming stars Opelka, Tsitsipas, De Minaur and some surprises with Albot, Djere, and Londero picking up titles amongst others.

On the ladies side we have seen Pliskova, Osaka and Kvitova pick up titles as have Andreescu, Bencic, Sabalenka and also Sofia Kenin the only American on the list.

Why is this?

I think this is a celebration of how open this sport is right now.

We are definitely going through a transition with more of the younger players winning titles and climbing the rankings which has been fantastic and inspiring to see but also its so good to see the older players on the tour still doing especially after some time of injured like Tsonga has done.

I think this is fantastic for the sport, people say it’s sad that the veterans are getting to the end of their careers now and it is but the talent on the tour is so exciting and we are set for a stunning season and future for this sport!
