A quarter final spot at a Masters 1000 is up for grabs.
It’s been a different so far for both players. Nick Kyrgios has as ever made the headline but results so far here and that title win in Acapulco have really given us something to think about this season.
Borna Coric is probably having one of his best tournaments of the year following a injury hit pre-season which saw him turn up to Melbourne a little under done. He did well in Dubai making the final and has had to fight super hard to get to round four in Miami.
This will be an interesting match-up.
Nick of course has entertained us with his casual but effective tennis and of course what has picked the headlines again this week is his underarm serve but it’s a legal move, so who cares?
I’m really looking forward to seeing these two play.
I always enjoy watching Nick play, he brings imagination and pure brilliance to the court which goes un-noticed. The backlash he got from that underarm serve against Nadal (which was out) was mad. Kyrgios did it in the last round but no one batted an eye-lid?
If anything the pressure is on Borna Coric.
The longer this run of Kyrgios’ goes on it is up to his opponent to out fox him. I think for Borna we are still off his best but this test I believe is what he needs right now.
Can he produce from the baseline and match him going forward to be the one leading the rallies?
I’m very interested to see what happens!
