The single stars who are doubling up in Madrid!

The Masters and Premier draws are always packed and as ever some of the best singles players in the world will also be doubling up this week in Madrid but who is playing?

The first big name on the sheet is Simona Halep. The former champion here will be with fellow Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu and up against a fellow Romanian in Olaru who is with Jurak. Either team will play top seeds Siniakova and Krejcikova in round two.

Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka have also doubled up again and their ranking means they receive a BYE for round one and potentially could meet Romanian player Buzarnescu in R2 who is with Bara.

The power will come from Daria Kasatkina who is badly out of form and Anett Kontaveit who is in good form.

Jelena Ostapenko who hasn’t kicked on from her big win a couple of years ago is in the draw and the team of Azarenka and Barty will also bring something to the table.

Brothers will kick off the draw in Madrid as defending singles champion Sascha Zverev who isn’t in good form this year will be teaming up with his older brother Mischa.

An all Australian doubles team as Nick Kyrgios and Bernard Tomic will play doubles together against a tough pair in Henri Kontinen and fellow Australian John Peers.

Khachanov and Dimitrov will be up against Cabal and Farah In round one.

Dominic Thiem who surely I’d expect to focus on the singles has teamed up with good friend Diego Schwartzman.

Stefanos Tsitsipas is also in the draw with in-form doubles player Wesley Koolhof.

Fabio Fognini and Robert Lindstedt will be up against Juan Martin Del Potro and Kei Nishikori in round one potentially playing Murray/Soares in round two.

Kyle Edmund will be teaming up with Neal Skupski as the all British pair up against a French pair or Chardy and Simon.

Dusan Lajovic and Daniil Medvedev are also involved but on separate teams but against each other in round one.
