Jo Konta; 150 wins, R3 in Paris, how far can she go?

Let me take you back to 2015.

Johanna Konta had qualified for Roland Garros for the first time and faced Denisa Allertova in the first round. I can remember the match as it were yesterday.

I needed a lie-down after the first set. The Brit was on the losing end of a first set tie-break which the Czech player won 19-17! When does that happen?! Jo recovered to take the second set 6-4 but it was Denisa who advanced winning the decider 6-2.

Since then Jo has come along way with top 10 ranking, winning titles but also has suffered a dip in form.

Four years running she came back to Paris and lost in round one until this year where the British number one has rediscovered her form quite surprisingly to us all on the clay but it has been great to watch.

The Brit in her 23 clay court tournaments before 2019 had never won as many points as she has in Madrid, Rabat, Rome and Paris this year! Finalist in Rabat and Rome, she has taken her game back to where we know it can be and ran with it.

Jo is hitting her ground strokes with determination and is playing without fear and that is what confidence can do for you.

Right now following two wins in Paris the draw has opened up with Kiki Bertens withdrawing with illness and Belinda Bencic wasn’t too convincing so a place in the quarter finals is not out of reach!
