Simona Halep is in a Wimbledon final.
The former world number one brought her best and multiplied it. It was that good, I’m sat here writing in disbelief, she was incredible.
No one covers the tennis court quite like Simona Halep and her level of game as well was not missing.
Elina Svitolina did get a while to get going and get a game on the board despite it taking 20 minutes for the Romanian to take a 2-0 lead.
She painted the lines, hit the corners, brought in the drop shot and thoroughly deserved her 6-1 6-3 victory against first time semi-finalist Elina Svitolina.
Elina did grow into the match early in the second set but nothing was going to stop Simona Halep today.
I can’t put it into words.
I’ve never seen Simona Halep play this well on a grass court.
She served well, great at the net and hitting the ball soo cleanly that it is like playing against a brick wall.
Add into her defensive abilities her court coverage. I said it is like watching the tennis version of road runner.
Simona has covered over 7 miles on court in her six matches and add that in with her outstanding tennis it is an incredible run to her first Wimbledon final which she has called;
“One of the best moments of my life”
