Maria Sharapova is set to return to tennis following this on going shoulder/arm injury.
The former world number one retired at Wimbledon despite just being one service game from going home anyway. A tweet circulated of her opponent celebrating the win which she expressed her displeasure at but at the same time retiring with one game left isn’t a good look,
Piatti said that Sharapova’s management team reached out to him. He was surprised but it was impossible to say no.
Interview with Spazio Tennis also said they worked a lot on her shots, technical side, video analysis and also looking at her serve motion hence the recent shoulder problem.
Her also went onto say she is motivated to get back to the top but also careful.
Sharapova has been given a wildcard and will then most likely head to New York a week early to train rather than play after Cincinnati where she hasn’t featured since 2014 and was champion back in 2011.
