Sloane Stephens and Kamau Murray are back together.
The split at the beginning of the year was a surprise but this reunion has put a few more questions out there.
Sloane Stephens announced the other day on Twitter that her and Sven Groeneveld had split. The season has been one to forget for the American with one semi-final appearance this season in Madrid for Sloane who was runner-up in Singapore at the back end of last year.
Monica Puig who ‘was’ coached by Kamau Murray was told last week he couldn’t travel with her to New York but gave no reasoning. He told Monica;
“At the end of last week, Kamau informed me it will not be available to go with me to the US Open, something that took me completely by surprise”
Monica has said and her agent has said as well;
“It was a total shock for us”
As they also learned that Kamau Murray has re-joined Sloane Stephens team four days before the US Open with Monica Puig finding out via Sloane’s tweet.
Dusan Vemic will be now working with Monica at the US Open. Dusan has previously worked with Bryan Brothers and Andrea Petkovic.
