No more party! Doubles is over for Vika & Ash for 2019 but will they be back in 2020?

Victoria Azarenka and Ash Barty have been one of the form teams on the doubles tour this year.

They have a win/loss of 21/8 for the season as a team over a course of playing in eight tournaments and winning a title in Rome at the same time as well as a semifinal run in Miami and a runner up spot at the US Open.

During this added doubles schedule both have been active on the singles tour as well and Ash has also of course won Miami, Roland Garros and made it to world number one in this time too!

After their semifinal win in New York the pair were asked how would they celebrate getting to the final? Vika was off partying!

Unfortunately, that is the end of the partying for 2019.

Despite getting to 9th in the doubles race for Shenzhen just one place off qualifying for the season ending championships the team will not be back this year.

Vika at the moment is struggling with injury having to pull out of Wuhan this week.

Ash is of course already going to be in Shenzhen in the singles event and has said the goal was never Shenzhen for the doubles but did amazing without too many tournaments.

Ash does have a long end of season with the final few tournaments, WTA Finals and then the Fed Cup final to follow.

To get to Shenzhen more tournaments will have to be played and at such a busy time of year it would be nice but would be tough to juggle with little injuries as well which Ash has said she is monitoring!

They are just 120 points off a qualifying spot right now and could be an alternative if wanted but will likely rule that out.

The party is over for 2019, will we see it again in 2020?
