Djokovic 6-1 6-2 Tsitsipas; Novak delivers a ruthless display in 58 minutes!

Well on Wednesday we were flirting with the idea of Novak Djokovic potentially leaving Paris early.

The four time former champion has been a little under the weather and it has impacted his tennis during his opening two matches.

Tie-breaks were needed to see off both Corentin Moutet and Kyle Edmund in the first set of their encounters with both players squandering chances to serve for the set against the world number one.

That is what makes him the best on the tour, he has gone from potentially an early exit to what was today an unstoppable performance.

He raced to the first set and set the theme early for the second too not allowing Tsitsipas to create an opening.

It was the Serb who covered more of the ground during the match and that epitomises his performance. As dominating as he was he just didn’t allow time for Stefanos to create any in roads. There was a worry down 0-30 at 1-4 but four points in a row extended Novak’s lead.

Next up for Djokovic will be the inform Grigor Dimitrov who has been super impressive this week and is guaranteed to finish his season around 20 in the world having been down at 78 not long ago.

Overall it was a perfect performance from Djokovic, he served well and was ruthless at the net winning 9 of his 9 points there.
