Caroline Wozniacki has announced she will return from tennis at the end of the season.
No one ran like the Dane on a tennis court, her work ethic has always been faultless but after fifteen years on the tour the 29 year old has decided to end her career at where she won her biggest title.
In 2018 Caro won the Australian Open in an epic three set battle with Simona Halep.
Despite only turning 29 in July the Dane has played in 892 singles matches and 91 doubles matches.
Caro has won titles all over the world including in Luxembourg 2008 and her last was her only Grand Slam title in Melbourne. The previous year she was also a winner of the WTA Finals in Singapore.
Caro was a previous US Open finalist on two occasions and spent 71 weeks as world number one. 2019 was also the first year that Caro did not record a top 10 win since 2007.
The Dane who spent most of her career coached by her Dad, Piotr announced in 2018 that she was diagonosed with rheumatoid arthritis but her health is not her reason for retiring. Caroline has said she is moving onto a new chapter and an upcoming project on the horizons;
There have been many great moments over the years and I was pleased to see her live in Melbourne this year against Sharapova.
This shot however has to be one of my all time favourites!
