In a months time Naomi Osaka will head back to Melbourne Park to defend her Australian Open title.
The two time major champion has had a lot of changes around her since she won in Melbourne eleven months again.
Sascha Bajin shortly left the camp not long after winning in Melbourne with the former number one stating she “wouldn’t put success over happiness”. Following this split she hired Jermaine Jenkins who is a previous hitting partner of Venus and his brother works with Serena.
This partnership didn’t work out and he left in September to be replaced by Naomi’s father as the 22 year old won back to back titles in Japan and Beijing.
Wim Fisette will now join the team ahead of the 2020 season. Wim has worked with some of the top women in tennis over the years including:
and on two occasions Victoria Azarenka but they recently split leaving the Belarusian without a coach and at the moment has no events lined up.
One of the most recent successes Wim was a part of was when he joined Kerber in 2018 following a bad 2017 season for the German but turned it around winning Wimbledon.
Before Noami heads to Melbourne she will be beginning her season at the Brisbane International in the New Year.
