For just the second time in twelve months Eugenie Bouchard has won two consectutive matches on the main circuit on the WTA tour.
Twelve months ago in Auckland the Canadian defeated Brengle and Schoofs on route to the quarter finals to begin her season ending her run with a defeat to Julia Georges.
Back in Auckland the former Wimbledon finalist finds herself in the quarter finals once again.
It has been a tough run for Bouchard who before this week found herself down outside the top 250 in the world but wins against Kirsten Flipkens and Caroline Garcia in straight sets has seen her progress back to the quarter finals.
Tomorrow, Eugenie Bouchard will be up against American and third seed Amanda Anisimova who went on an incredible run last year at Roland Garros with the win over Simona Halep.
This will be the first meeting between the two players. Amanda did miss a chunk of tennis towards the end of last season as before the US Open her father and coach sadly passed away.
