Rain fall down at Melbourne Park may of delayed proceedings a bit but the stories still came quick and fast as the first day of the first major of 2020 got underway. Brit’s in Melbourne, how will the seven singles players get on?

Over the course of the next couple of weeks 256 players will battle for the Australian Open titles. Out of the 256, 6 of them are Brits so who is playing down under? Kyle Edmund v Dusan Lajovic Kyle had a good week in Hobart making the quarter finals before losing to John Isner in a match where he played the better tennis. Dan Evans splits opinion. April 2017 Dan failed a drugs test at Barcelona. He had just reached a career high of 41 and out of competition took the class A drug. Dan’s tennis world fell apart around him. He received a one year ban from the sport and over the course of the year has made an impressive comeback. Following a difficult grass court week in Nottingham the tours now move to Birmingham and London as the men and women on the look to enhance their Wimbledon chances but what opening round match-ups do we have early on? Very “Lucky Loser” ? – Dan Evans receives spot despite ‘f•••••g s•••show’ outburst and point penalty

I think tennis does need to have a look at itself. Dan Evans was defeated 6-4 6-4 by Alexander Bublik in the final round of qualifying for Miami main draw in a match which was just chaos.
