It has been an incredible 10 days of tennis. Played across Perth, Brisbane and the final eight coming together in Sydney the new format has proved incredibly popular with fans and players alike with over 220,000 fans attending the event. To begin the day Roberto Bautista Agut extended his winning record to 6-0 for the event with a straight sets win against Dusan Lajovic. Another 100% record was kept as the super impressive Novak Djokovic also boasted a faultless 6-0 record in singles with his 6-2 7-6 domination of Rafael Nadal. It has been an incredible couple of days down in New York. With round one now over who has caught the eye down at Flushing Meadows? It’s been a great the day at Wimbledon, some of the best have gone home and others have had to work incredible hard to battle their way through to the third round on Friday. Reilly Opelka 7-5 3-6 4-6 6-4 8-6 Stan Wawrinka Reilly’s biggest win of his career out on Court 2 this morning. Feliciano Lopez is about to embark on a record breaking 70th consecutive Grand Slam appearance!

At the age of 37, Feliciano Lopez is set to create a new record. The Spaniard who is as of this year tournament director in Madrid did something that hasn’t been done since 1997 at Queens Club winning both singles and doubles titles. Now he is about to embark on his 70th consecutive Grand Slam appearance which is a stand out record. Wimbledon will be Roger Federer’s 66th consecutive appearance where as Alize Cornet is the highest active player on the women’s tour on the leader board with Wimbledon being her 51st. It’s a Murray/Lopez win at Queens!

In January the thought of playing tennis again didn’t look promising. This week Andy Murray returned to doubles with Feliciano Lopez and they have re-written history at Queens this week on their way to their first title together in their first partnership on the tour. First of all they had to beat Farah and Cabal the top seeds in straight sets on his return to tennis.
