Jannik Sinner was never in Milan to just make up the numbers however little did we expect the Italian to walk away with the title. Denis’ first! It has been coming and I’m pleased it did. After seven semi-final defeats on the trot for Denis Shapovalov the Canadian went not one but two better. Not only did he make his first ATP tour final but he won his first title against Filip Krajinovic in Stockholm ending his week without a set drop. The season will end with a trip to Milan for the Next Gen Finals for the top eight players ranked 21 of younger, as of yet there is only one qualifier however I don’t him to be there.
