WTA Finals Day 8 – The Winners Take It All!

Hingis and Mirza dominate in Singapore final! One way traffic is the phrase I’d use to describe the final as the world number one doubles team strolled to their 22nd win in a row and 10th title of 2015 with a 6-0 6-3 win against Garbine Muguruza and Carla Suarez Navarro! To go unbeaten in 22 matches is unthinkable but to go unbeaten in the 5 matches at the WTA Finals with so much at stake with high intensity levels and not to even drop a set in these five matches is simply unbelievable! WTA Finals Day 7 – Kvitova and Radwanska through to the final!

Kvitova defeats Sharapova for the second year running in Singapore! Last year it was in the round robin, this year in the semi-finals as Petra Kvitova has got the better of Maria Sharapova for the second year running in Singapore with a straight sets win against the Russian who has been in very good form in Singapore. I was slightly surprised when I saw the result despite Kvitova’s success last year against Maria however this WTA Finals has been so unpredictable at times which shows the strength of the women’s game right now, I’d even go as far to say … Continue reading WTA Finals Day 7 – Kvitova and Radwanska through to the final!

WTA Finals Day 6 – Muguruza maintains 100% record and Safarova out despite victory!

3 matches, 3 wins for Muguruza! She can’t stop winning right now and is looking very dangerous going into the semi-finals. Again Garbine put on another top class performance in the second and third set came through some tricky games and despite going a break down a few times in the second set she kept it close and composed and again recorded another top 10 win her 10th of 2015 which is pretty exceptional. With this win Muguruza is through to the semi-finals in the singles and the doubles in Singapore to face Agnieszka Radwanska in the next round! Safarova … Continue reading WTA Finals Day 6 – Muguruza maintains 100% record and Safarova out despite victory!
