Wimbledon Round 1 – Novak v Philip, Naomi v Poots, Coco v Venus & many more!

Novak Djokovic v Philip Kohlschreiber I suppose opening rounds don’t get tougher than this. Novak will be looking at this one and the first thing that will be on his mind will be the defeat to Kohlschreiber at Indian Wells 6-4 6-4 earlier on this year. The good news for Novak is that since then they have met twice with Novak coming through on both occassions. They did meet at this stage of Wimbledon four years ago with Novak going through in straight sets and I expect Philip to really give him problems but over five sets I only see … Continue reading Wimbledon Round 1 – Novak v Philip, Naomi v Poots, Coco v Venus & many more!

Donna, Felix, Matteo, Belinda & Amanda

We are over the half way mark now in the season. It’s been full of incredible moments and many more are to follow but who should we watch out for in London? Donna Vekic Donna arrives into London pretty much sick of British weather. Having played the majority of her time in Nottingham indoors she got rained off a couple of times in Birmingham too. Donna always plays well on the grass but is having her best season on the tour this year. She is on the verge of a top 20 position in the rankings and I can see … Continue reading Donna, Felix, Matteo, Belinda & Amanda

Queens Club – Stefanos Tsitsipas v Kyle Edmund You probably couldn’t have drawn a tougher opening round. Kyle will be up against it in Stefanos who didn’t get off to a good start in Stuttgart. He played in Halle this year last year but is a pretty unknown on the grass as it’s only around for a couple of weeks a … Continue reading The Queens & Birmingham first round matches you cannot miss!

Belinda Bencic v Donna Vekic – which 22 year old will make their first 4R in Paris?

Two players I have really enjoy watching are Belinda Bencic and Donna Vekic. They have both been on the tour for so long. Incredible wins, tough lows and plenty of match experience for these two 22 year olds who I have no doubt will be here for a long time to come. Now they are both after a piece of personal history as they seek to make the fourth round of Roland Garros for the first time. Belinda I saw live in Madrid when she faced Simona Halep in what was a fantastic opening two sets before Halep strolled into … Continue reading Belinda Bencic v Donna Vekic – which 22 year old will make their first 4R in Paris?
