Sloane, Madison, Caro, Vika & Garbine; 5 ladies have kicked off April in style!

The beginning of the clay court season has begun for some but for others it was the last week on the hard courts which brought plenty of opportunities. Some players have played well up to now and some haven’t kicked off their season at all but following a week in Charleston and Monterrey respectively the conversation has really kicked off for Sloane Stephens, Madison Keys, Caroline Wozniacki, Victoria Azarenka and Garbine Muguruza. Caro Wozniacki A good week for Caro, the clay has never been a favourite of the Dane but with Francesca on side she has really pulled it all … Continue reading Sloane, Madison, Caro, Vika & Garbine; 5 ladies have kicked off April in style!

Madison Keys sends out a reminder as she wins Charleston in style

Madison Keys has just reminded us of her clay court skills with her first title on the surface. Madison’s year has been a bit flat. R4 exit in Melbourne to Svitolina was followed by a slight break in February before returning to the sunshine double where she lost in R1 at both events. Sloane’s style of tennis is very much big from the baseline and she will look to dominate from this position. I have said time and time … Continue reading Sloane “I’m tired of f****** losing”

Maria Sakkari – 7-6 6-3 Kiki Bertens

Second seed Kiki Bertens is out. A first set which was really close will be seen as a missed opportunity for the second seed who saw three set points in the tie breaker but she could not capatalise on the break points winning just 4/11 in the match. Sakkari who saw off Petkovic 6-3 6-0 in the previous round continued to fight in a pivotal tiebreak and you could see the frustration on the face of Kiki who knew that she had missed a big opportunity. The second set began with Sakkari continuing her good form from the tiebreak and … Continue reading Maria Sakkari – 7-6 6-3 Kiki Bertens
