Breakthrough year’s don’t get better than this. I honestly think we won’t see anything quite like it again. The scary thing? The season isn’t done yet. I really don’t know where to begin, it’s been an incredible journey so far and Bianca has rewritten history. She leaves New York with 43 wins and 4 defeats over the course of the season which is quite outstanding which includes qualifying too. It seems a lifetime ago now that Bianca began her season qualifying in Auckland and once she made her way into the main draw didn’t look back which was her theme … Continue reading Bianca’s breakthrough year; Indian Wells πŸ† Miami 🏝Toronto πŸ† 152 to 5 πŸ“ˆ Four months injured πŸš‘ US Open πŸ—½ 45 wins βœ… 4 defeats ❌ 8-0 v Top 10 😲

Taylor Townsend’s serve and volley was a brilliant watch but did an over-reliance and naivety with it cost her?

One of the fun stories of this years US Open has been the tennis of Taylor Townsend. The 23 year old is set to be back in the top 85 on Monday when the rankings come out following her epic run in New York. Taylor had to come through qualifying and in her two matches came from a set behind to win. First two rounds of the main draw she once again came from a set behind against Koslova and Wimbledon champion Simona Halep. A straight sets win against Sorana Cirstea set her up to play Bianca Andreescu but there … Continue reading Taylor Townsend’s serve and volley was a brilliant watch but did an over-reliance and naivety with it cost her?

Bianca Andreescu 6-4 6-4 Caroline Wozniacki – Dane digs deep but Bianca battles through to the second week!

Something you cannot fault with Caroline Wozniacki is the fight. The Dane always leaves it all out there but today her all wasn’t enough. I actually felt like it was Wozniacki who was the better player in the opening exchanges. Caro did play a pretty bad opening service game but re-grouped immediately and we attacking soo well from deep. At 4-4 things did change, the Dane lost 5 games in a row and found herself 4-6 0-3 (double break) down. At the end of the first set she did receive a medical time-out for her right foot which was heavily … Continue reading Bianca Andreescu 6-4 6-4 Caroline Wozniacki – Dane digs deep but Bianca battles through to the second week!

An emotional ending to an incredible week of tennis!

It has been an incredible week of tennis of Toronto and it has come to an end. Sadly the final didn’t go on for as long as we had hoped but in their respective paths Bianca Andreescu and Serena Williams delivered. It goes without saying that I hope Serena recovers from this back injury and we see her back on court very soon. I do think Cincinnati will be too soon for the American but hopefully in time for New York. Let’s not forget this is the first time since Cincinnati last year that Serena has completed two matches in … Continue reading An emotional ending to an incredible week of tennis!
