Konta ❌ Venus ✅ Barty ✅ Del Potro’s knee 🙏🏻 Boys battle in Halle 💪🏻

Rain brought an early end to play at London and Birmingham yesterday with not one match completed in London. Today saw a better day for both but first round play in London is still not complicated on a big day across the UK and Europe as the grass court season continues. Jo out! Bit of a shock but Johanna Konta is out. The British number one never really got going and if you compare the performance today to the one against Ostapenko it was night and day. The Latvian was ruthless against Swiatek in round one and looked so composed … Continue reading Konta ❌ Venus ✅ Barty ✅ Del Potro’s knee 🙏🏻 Boys battle in Halle 💪🏻

Borna Coric left frustrated as Lucas Pouille snaps losing streak!

Borna Coric will leave Madrid thinking what could have been? Lucas Pouille came to Madrid without a main draw win on the ATP circuit since the 23rd of January in Melbourne a streak of over three months which forced him to decide to take a step down last week as he played a challenger at home in Bordeaux walking away with the title. Lucas played very well. He seemed very focused and determined early on and his hitting from the baseline and especially the forehand which the Croat struggled to deal with time and time again with the sheer power … Continue reading Borna Coric left frustrated as Lucas Pouille snaps losing streak!

Madrid; Men’s round one match-ups 😯🤩

I watched the draw in pure disbelief! What a draw we have and the opening round match-ups even without the top eight in action is stunning! Denis Shapovalov v Felix Auger-Aliassime Wow. Two Canadians who are good friends and have explosive games! Felix is big off the forehand as we know and if he can get that time to unleash then he will be difficult to play against. I like Denis’ game it is full of imagination but there is one thing that bothered me. I saw a video on Twitter of Denis’ best shots from Barcelona and they were … Continue reading Madrid; Men’s round one match-ups 😯🤩

Thursday in Monte-Carlo; Novak 🤩 Nadal 😏 Medvedev 😎 Thiem, Sascha, Tsitsipas 🤔& Borna 🥳

The quarter finals are set. It was another day of stunning clay court tennis in Monaco as 16 became 8 as the first clay Masters event of the season delivered once again. Djokovic 6-3 6-0 Fritz A very good performance from Novak, once he got going he really got in the groove and began to impose and look confident on the court. That win previously against Kohlschreiber has done him major favours as he looks ahead to his quarter final match against a difficult Medvedev. Nadal 6-4 6-1 Dimitrov Another good performance from Rafa, backing up his 6-1 6-1 against … Continue reading Thursday in Monte-Carlo; Novak 🤩 Nadal 😏 Medvedev 😎 Thiem, Sascha, Tsitsipas 🤔& Borna 🥳

Borna Coric 6-4 5-7 7-5 Hubert Hurkacz

Borna Coric has managed to orchestrate his way into round two in Madrid. The Croat was under pressure throughout as the Pole kept coming back despite in all honesty not being near his best and through in some surprise rain down at the Country Club really did add to the issues for the 9th seed. It took 2 hours 46 minutes for Borna to get the job done in Monte Carlo but will be pleased to find his way past Hurkacz who has proved to be tricky for many. Borna will not be too happy with the amount of unforced … Continue reading Borna Coric 6-4 5-7 7-5 Hubert Hurkacz

It’s almost here… Monte Carlo Rolex Masters 😍

You could not ask for a more stunning location for a tennis tournament. April means a couple of things on the ATP tour. Clay court tennis returns and the annual love affair with the Monte Carlo Country Club is in full swing. Some have been on site for a while already and others are arriving over the coming days as the best in men’s tennis begin the fight in the first of the three Masters 1000 events on clay in the lead up to Roland Garros. Usual suspects by the coast include two time champion Novak Djokovic and a man … Continue reading It’s almost here… Monte Carlo Rolex Masters 😍

Who starred at the Sunshine Double?

The sunshine double has come to an end. Two weeks at Indian Wells and Miami have provided us with some great memories but who surprised us during this month of tennis? Bianca Andreescu I can’t really start anywhere else, Bianca won Indian Wells and continued her good form in Miami before pulling out injured. Most wins on the tour and first wildcard to win Indian Wells, she has brought her dominative tennis to the court with her forehand and variety causing havoc for the best on the tour. Hubert Hurkacz Hubert really did make a name for himself at both … Continue reading Who starred at the Sunshine Double?
