Kiki Bertens & Bianca Andreescu withdraw from Roland Garros

The women’s draw has wildly opened up. teenager Bianca Andreescu who made her return to tennis just over 48 hours ago following a two month injury break due to a shoulder issue has withdrawn from Roland Garros with a shoulder issue. Let’s hope it isn’t serious and we get to see her on the grass soon. Sofia Kenin receives a walk-over in round three. The draw for this years French Open has been made. We now know the projected paths for the top players where so much is expected of them and the potential early obstacles they could face. Narrowing down who I think will win in Paris has been a tricky task especially on the women’s tour. I’ve managed to narrow it down to four leaving out some big names… Simona Halep Do I have doubts? Kiki Bertens almost retired in 2017, now she’s Madrid champion, No.4 in the world and a Paris contender!

Kiki Bertens is a fighter. If you watch her play you first think fighter. It has not always been a smooth ride though for the new world number four. At the end of 2017 despite making the doubles finals at the WTA Finals she considered walking away from tennis for good. Kiki wasn’t happy with her singles results and life on the tour. Roland Garros Day 3 – Tone set as Nadal, Cilic & Del Potro win, Denis’ debut, Sharapova recovers, Serena returns, Edmund cruises and Garbine impresses!

Day 3 at Roland Garros didn’t see many issues arise. After 48 hours of top players falling normal service was resumed as the worlds best arrived on the third day. Serena’s back!
