Serena in 2010; “There is no way I need to be out here at 38” At now 38 Serena’s schedule looks set for 2020…

Serena Williams famously said in 2010 when asked if she will be playing tennis at 38; “If I am, I want you to personally take me off and escort me off the court. There is no way I need to be out here at 38” Serena recently turned 38 and her schedule for 2020 looks set. Australian Open Indian Wells Miami Rome Roland Garros Wimbledon Tokyo Olympics Montreal Cincinnati US Open Some are suggesting this could be her final but only she knows that. Serena; San Jose πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Toronto πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Cincinnati 🎒 New York πŸ—½ Need for big wins πŸ₯‡ & the fight for Equality πŸ’ͺ🏻

The next big stop will be a trip to New York. New York holds good and not so good memories for Serena Williams but before we end up at Flushing Meadows there is plenty of work to be done so what can we expect over the next few months? Back to San Jose?Β  San Jose is now home to the Silicon Valley Classic which moved on from WTA Stanford. Serena did play here last year using her protected ranking to get into the tournament. She isn’t on an entrants list and from what I have heard it isn’t happening. Remember … Continue reading Serena; San Jose πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Toronto πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Cincinnati 🎒 New York πŸ—½ Need for big wins πŸ₯‡ & the fight for Equality πŸ’ͺ🏻

Even if No.24 doesn’t happen, Serena is still the greatest!

No. 24 is the target and the target still hasn’t been reached but whether she does or not for many she will still be the greatest. Many are saying Serena won’t get there but can we just move away for a moment from ‘winning’ No.24 and remember since giving birth where she could have lost her life following complications she has fought to make things better for women and returning mothers. She came back to Wimbledon last year having left as winner in 2016 without a seed in 2018 but fought to get the changed and was seeded for the … Continue reading Even if No.24 doesn’t happen, Serena is still the greatest!

Simona Halep – Wimbledon Champion πŸ†

Simona Halep is Wimbledon champion. Following the Romanian’s below par exit from Paris not long it led to questions and my god hasn’t she answered them with an incredible 6-2 6-2 victory over Serena Williams in just 56 minutes. She set the theme and I said in my preview my head said Simona would win here and I’m soo pleased for her. It was the complete performance and will be something  I will be directing over the coming days as it was bloody brilliant. The way she covered the whole court, returned serve and the passing winners were flawless. You … Continue reading Simona Halep – Wimbledon Champion πŸ†

Locked In; Serena takes 59 minutes to progress to an 11th Wimbledon Final!

Serena Williams on Saturday will bid for her 8th Wimbledon title and a 24th Grand Slam title. The former world number one has been incredible on her run to the final and has got better and better as the tournament progresses with a semi-final thrashing of Barbora Strycova defeating the 33 year old 6-1 6-2. Serena looked locked in once again, the moment she came onto the court and she just was faultless. In the first set after going 5-1 up she did find herself 0-40 down on serve but five points in a row sealed the set for the … Continue reading Locked In; Serena takes 59 minutes to progress to an 11th Wimbledon Final!

MurRena comes to an end!

At the hands of the top seeds Bruno Soares and Nicole Melichar the run of Andy Murray and Serena Williams in the mixed doubles has come to an end. It has been a fun few days of tennis which began last Saturday with a straight sets win and that followed on Tuesday but today the top seeds were too good. Bruno and Nicole have played mixed doubles a few times together and you could tell. Both were strong on serve and at the net. Nicole really introduced the lob really well during the tie. Murray and Serena did get a … Continue reading MurRena comes to an end!
